Annual Picnic – 2013

Glengarry Historical Society

The 2013 Annual GHS Picnic was held at Stone House Point, Glen Walter on Thursday, 20th June 2013 . Our hosts were Gail and Tom Kaneb with Sean Adams.

Although it is now standing ruin, the 1792 house of Lt-Col John Macdonell (Aberchalder), commander of the Second Battalion of the Royal Canadian Volunteer Regiment during the Peninsular Wars and first Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada. The land and its ruin has long been in the hands the Craig family. Bring with you your own picnic lunch, lawn chairs, teacups, coffee mugs and welcome guests.
